Biennially, the Idaho Humanities Council honors two K-12 humanities teachers for "Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Awards." Any student, parent, fellow teacher, school administrator, or member of the public may nominate one full-time teacher of the humanities in Idaho.  

Recipients of the award are honored by the Council in special award ceremonies and receive $1,000 in cash, which the teacher may use for any purpose. In addition, the winning teacher's school receives $1,000 for the humanities curriculum.

The IHC will invite nominations again in 2010.
